Been trying to stay off the phone as much as possible. Cleaning and organizing led to the discovery of more yarn, which led to the new year's day cast on of another color experiment.

New tea cozy for this morning's tea. I love how yarn like this softens and melds after washing. This is a little tall for the current pot, but that's ok, a variety of teapots are to be had.

Decided to stay up and finish the swatch. Two episodes of Father Brown later, i-cord loop complete, inside yarn ends trimmed. Colors in the photo are not at all true. It's going in a hot bath now and I'll get another picture tomorrow.

Made some progress. Not too bad. I'm not certain I like enough to do a whole vest. And I'm not certain I have enough yarn either. Should have weighed my cakes before I started so that I could get a better estimate. Also need to look up which yarn is dominant again, because I suspect I'm doing it the wrong way. Still... it's just a tea cozy! This is how we learn.

Tea cozy continues. Didn't like my first attempt at patterning so ripped out a couple rows and did them over. I was given these reds and golds by a kind knitting friend. Trying to determine if I have enough to make a vest. Each time I start a stranded knitting piece I am reminded how much I love it. Really, why do I do anything else? Maybe it's time to specialize.

Zoom chat with friends. Large shawl needs attention and the recounting of 379 (s/b 381) stitches. What to do? Cast on something else. Swatching in the form of a hat/tea cozy. It didn't occur to me until I took the photo that the ribbing might read as candy cane stripes. I think the golds to come later will avoid that effect, but that's what swatching is for.
