155 followers · 1303 posts · Server a2mi.socialI ran into a guy at #Knobcon that is making Eurorack-style modules that talk via internal Ethernet cables through a bog standard network switch. No external patch cables needed. There's oodles of bandwidth in Ethernet apparently just sitting there.
Guys like him are my hero. Absolutely bonkers level of commitment; designing the hardware and software from scratch to use a "better" cable format is .... It's something, man.

I have several goals:
- versatility. Interested in everything from ambient drone to hard techno to lofi hip hop beats.
- Sample playback/loading/editing is a must for the above.
- Self contained enough to let me noodle at a park by myself.
- Beginner friendly, but with room to grow
Am I missing anything obvious? More effects maybe?
