Triple drop of classical music to start the day. I like Cantata 140 far more than 57, it's a little cheerier. I like Bach's Cantatas especially when he has 2 voices doing complicated call and response and then they do complex harmonies. Beethoven - the octet is better than the quintet with piano. Italian music! When I was a kid in my 20s and took an overview of classical music via the bargain CDs - think Excelsior - I latched on to the strum und drang of the Germans - obv I still listen to Bach and Beethoven. I very thoughtlessly waived away Italian music as "lite and nothing" but now 30 years later I'm like....you know...that's really really great stuff. Vivaldi has a wonderful trio piece here Concerto in G Minor for Flute, Oboe and Bassoon, P, 402 that is absolutely stunning in composition and also reminds me of the Kinks.
