On my visit to Grand Staircase Escalante a highlight was a hike in Kodachrome Basin State Park. So much color and texture. The dark red sandstone, the Entrada formation was laid down a mind boggling 175 million years ago. The pink cliffs way in the distance are in Bryce Canyon NP.

Some folks in a diner told me that I should visit Kodachrome Basin State Park for an uncrowded photographic treat. They did not disappoint.
