Unhappy to read that, but yet it confirms the flaws of Japan "democracy".
Seen in the Japan Times (words of the freelance journalist Yuji Yoshitomi):

"On the other hand, Komeito would also be damaged if they leave the coalition. They’ve wielded power as one of the ruling parties. If Komeito suddenly becomes an opposition party, it would not be taken seriously by other opposition parties, damaging its credibility"

Well, except that it's how it works in all the other real democracies in the world.
Parties just alternate regularly between ruling or opposition, and that's just how it must be to keep the democracy healthy.
