Update on this #PecanPie because it exceeded expectations in that partner who doesn't care for it typically asked for some!
And absolutely right - the inside filling is totally reminiscent of #Kozhukkattai filling.
Yes the #CaneSyrup is like #jagggery that would be used in those.
Flaky shatter butter crust and the pecans are almost candied (did toast them of course - prior to putting in as filling)
