Rabbi Manfred Erich Swarsensky (PT; 1906-81) was both a great intellectual & a charismatic leader of the largest #Jewish community in Berlin (NB interdenominational). On #Kristallnacht, the Nazis burned his preferred synagogue (https://www.lbi.org/griffinger/record/207084) & sent him to #KZ #Sachsenhausen concentration camp.

Released in 1939, he settled in Wisconsin, where he led a reform congregation & became a leading figure in civic & interfaith life

I know the #KFC #Kristallnacht screw-up is a sensitive issue, but it's way too comedic.

From a technical standpoint it's a rather difficult mistake to make - Kristallnacht is not a marked date in most calendars, not even the German one I believe, which is the most likely used one for marketing in Germany.

It's more plausible that a marketing intern doesn't know what Kristallnacht is and send the message without reviews.
