For people who don't put much effort into their ICs, you're missing out on a valuable tool.

Four images gives you 6000 characters to play with to get the stuff that didn't fit into your toot.

Just *always* describe what's in the image *first* so the original intent isn't corrupted. One paragraph to do that, the rest is yours to pack in those technical details.

We *need* better support for *everybody* not just those *using* readers.

I have a

I freely admit to being a member of & don't quite grok the entirety here but I've noticed something close to universal and maybe everyone else is just used to it, so accepts it

Long are the norm here. It's considered polite and good practice

So why can I only find one that takes that into account? Every other one I have tried gives a pathetic one or two line edit area

It's a nightmare on a phone

I've always thought that Boosting *without* Favouriting was impolite.

But I gotta tell you I β™₯️β™₯️β™₯️ the surprise 🎁 Follows as 😜 and infest the fediverse!

I can't come *close* to predicting how far it's gotten without the Favourite! πŸ˜‚

Thank you all!

Suggestion. We should be able to Favourite a Follow notification.

Yeah, DM. But wouldn't it be cool to *immediately* express that feeling of joy when you see someone?

It started earlier, but the growth of people experiencing computer *systems* regularly was the 🀦

They were more than they could understand in their entirety. They were 'strange'. They couldn't use them, they were confused

To do it *effectively* you are drawing on a much smaller pool of domain knowledge and it's *much* shallower

And the systems keep on getting more and more complex, faster

Did I mention effective UX is hard? πŸ˜„

.. as always, different strokes for different folks

That is why *effective* UX is so HARD!

I deliberately didn't use *good* because that immediately invokes the visual (unless you are a UX or systems type - I'm both)

We have been assessing the visual since we were apes. It's natural to all of us that can see.

Assessing effectiveness is more Industrial Revolution thinking. And it didn't really apply to people then.

Darling! I think your bio suits Mastodon perfectly!

I have found I have a faster expanding 'footprint' here than my original attempt reflects because I'm so comfortable.

My footprint hasn't grown this much since I was a teenager πŸ˜„

I'm updating my bio pretty regularly. Especially when I find a brand new tangent here.

I *should* have learned how to self-edit, proofread for clarity & effectiveness like I have here *much, much* earlier in life. πŸ¦–

My entire career included writing/reviewing/approving technical documentation. ☹️

@brianmmdev Sorry, you picked up a stick, poked the πŸ¦– and got him thinking...

New warning req'd:

Sure, we listen to music with our πŸ‘‚,
but we *interpret* music with our 🧠. Particularly our emotions.

As highly(?) evolved apes, we unconsciously use our hearing to establish, initially, a sense of *danger level* of our environment.

You still do it. Every time you walk close to road traffic for example. You don't actively think, your 🧠 is constantly doing a Go-NoGo analysis
