Two more angles of my first Kroot warrior.
For the lump of meat they carry I wanted to bring a little interest to the model. So rather than plain "flesh" colour, I went with an exotic alien look to the skin, but kept the realism with "normal" bone and "meat" colours.

Flying Kroot.
For my personal army/collection.
From my understanding, Kroot can take on the attributes of what they eat.
Therefore if you feed one enough winged food, it should gain wings...
Also, if a Kroot's arms were wings, how would it hold a rifle?
This is my answer.
Feathers were sculpted from epoxy putty.
Feet were cut off and a rifle with the hands conveniently spaced, was attached with minimal alterations to the legs.

As promised, a few shots of the based #Kroot #KillTeam.
Given that my aim here was to paint more quickly than normal, I'm actually pretty pleased with the results. Using an airbrush for the zenithals before using contrasts has made for some really smooth transitions on the cloaks and skin. There are a few smaller details where speed paints didn't really work, and the bases are quite plain, but generally happy!
I'll try to get a blog post up at some point with the full set of images.

Kroot warrior #1.
The first Kroot for my personal army/collection.

But I am quite pleased with the "meal" they are carrying.

I’ve been working on my Kroot gang supplement today. I have most of it done, just writing out the genetic modifications and then some hangers on. I’m going to release the rules as a beta later this week!
To celebrate I got a little extra assembly done on a few stragglers for my Kroot gang, I figure a little plasma pistol action would be a good supplement to whatever the gun up top is/will be.

I’ve wanted to run a gang of #Kroot for ages, but the old kit was just too samey. The #KillTeam is really lovely, I’m gonna write a homebrew gang list for #Necromunda of Kroot mercenaries that managed to slip out of The Stranger and ply their trade downhive.
Working on a gene-smithing system to represent the Kroot’s genetic adaptation, wargear list etc. Will release it once I get it done!
