This is the closest I have ever been to an elephant.
We were visiting a farm bordering the Kruger Park in South Africa. The farmer said jump on the back of the pickup, we are inspecting fences.
This young elephant was curious and came to check us out. The pickup is about 2 meters from the fence.
The electric fence is a halfway effective attempt to keep the elephants out of the sugar cane fields and citrus orchards. Your average elephant has a sweet tooth.

Not a great photo by any means but one I really value. This is a huge elephant bull I encountered near Mooiplaas in the Kruger park.
He stood in the road in front of me when I came arround a corner. He moved into the bush before I could get a photo in the road. I believe he is the well known tusker Masthulele that died in 2016. For more info see sanparks.org/parks/kruger/elep

So, crunch time... so so many knots to tie... joys of being company owners 🤪.
But KNP here we come; on 8th of Feb from Crocodile Bridge up to Mopani and back down; staying at Talamati for the first time. Almost 2 weeks in the bush will be good for the soul 💚
