Great success! I’ve been looking for this floppy disk for many years… found it last week within a collection of random vintage disks on eBay…it just arrived…
…and it’s in perfect #KryoFlux condition!
HAPPYDANCING!!!
A friend of mine, who ones a 3D-printer, was kind enough to create a case for my #KryoFlux circuit board. This is awesome! 😜
It's 2023... I am dumping a bunch of 360K 5.25 inch floppy disks to store their images on a 32TB RAID10 NAS. You can play MS-DOS games from 1991 on the same computer you're playing "Hogwarts Legacy" or "Kerbal Space Program 2" a few minutes later. What a time to be alive!

Well, sometimes you're out of luck. I just tried to get valid #KryoFlux streams from a set of "new old stock" 5.25inch 360K disks from 1991.I was only partially successful, because "disk #2" showed plenty of bad sectors on various tracks.
It took me several hours of careful bit by bit restauration through a hex editor but I at least managed to extract pristine .IMG disk images to add to my collection.
I just added the #StarWars B-Wing expansion of X-Wing to my #KryoFlux disk image collection.
This 1993 stand-alone release is actually pretty rare. It includes both German and English versions, so it comes on two 3.5 inch floppies. They even included a small note explaining this issue.
I uploaded everything to archive.org. Enjoy!

Just spent the last few hours sifting through the latest #TotalDOSCollection image archive. Over 62 GB of floppy disks... their work is really impressive! I discovered about 20 new & already verified #KryoFlux streams to add to my personal library and even found an overlooked read error in one of my 360KB disks of Zak McKracken. Fun!

Tänker mig en framtid som digital arkeolog som kan läsa in sånt som folk gett upp för 15 år sedan :-)
Apropå så finns det ett opensource alternativ till #kryoflux numera.
