TLDR?

The tension built in It Follows is the kind you feel reflected in your suddenly noticeable heart beat, in the hairs raised on the back of your neck, and that tenseness is kept up as solidly as this monster keeps coming for Jay, our protagonist.

I added a half a star just because we got to see J-Lo ruin a hideous wedding dress, then run around for the rest of the movie in a torn up, dirty, bloody dress, wearing stolen big black boots from a dead pirate, armed with a shotgun! (rip off or not, it was visually awesome!)
