I’m absolutely flawed by how out of touch, inhumane and callous this YouTube thumbnail is. I’ve not heard of this Kyle Hill person before but it’s truly something wild to behold seeing how people will deprave themselves for money on the internet.
This thumbnail clearly took time to make and the composition is certainly eye catching, so I’ve no doubt someone meticulously fussed over this picture for quite some time before being happy with it. So many opportunities to stop and start again were ignored.
It really is a small example of a larger issue that I’ve noticed, the disappointing heartlessness of how the tragedies at Hiroshima and Nagasaki get talked about in pop culture and colloquially. At the end of the day, thousands upon thousands of lives were lost when those bombs dropped; innocent citizen lives were lost. People seem to easily forget that part.
