Yesterday, the fine folks over at @northtribune released an article with more details about #L2O.
Some highlights:
* Yes, it will be regionalized
* Sudbury Cyclones received top marks in evaluations
* Cyclones to use the Sudbury Wolves' bus
* Press box & seating to be added to James Jerome, new facilities beyond city-owned pitch being penciled
* England-style (Premier, Championship, League2) league naming likely being rebranded in a couple of years
It's New Sudbury Days (#NSD2023) this weekend. All the major parks throughout the area are hosting events, booths, free food, etc.
This morning, my family & I are heading to Ridgecrest Park for a pancake breakfast, train rides, face painting, etc.
There's also supposed to be a rep from #SudburyWolves, our local #OHL team.
Might have been nice to have a rep from #SudburyCyclones to drum up interest in the new #L1O #soccer team, but I guess there isn't too much to talk about there yet.

At long last, the CBC has their first article on the #SudburyCyclones .

The folks over at CTV News have some footage from yesterday's press conference for the Sudbury Cyclones.
Footage includes shots of James Jerome's grass field, as opposed to the fenced-in Turf field. There is significantly less seating at the grass field, and it is further from the field. At #GSSC's U16 (M) #TOSL match last weekend, many spectators brought their came chairs to sit closer to the field.
Clearly, the club is still piecing it together.

Today was SWSE's media event on the launch of their new #L2O team, the Sudbury Cyclones.
In addition to officially announcing the Sporting Director and General Manager, they've announced plans for a training academy, potential future improvements to James Jerome, and the number of teams in the league.
From the first released article, it like it won't be regional, but it consists of 10 new squads competing across the province.

The folks over at the Canadian Soccer History Archives have pushed through an update to recognize the announcement of #L2O's Sudbury Cyclones.
They've added the historical stats for the original Cyclones from the National Soccer League (1976-1981), and a fresh page for the new team.

The news cycle continues with another article on Sudbury Cyclones.
Randy Pascal, of Sudbury Sports, has posted his intro article on the club.
Not really much new info in this article, but for everyone hungry for more, you can read Randy's latest here:

Looks like the automatic post to Mastodon from Crater's Edge doesn't work with #Divi posts/pages.
I just quickly threw up a post about the #L1O information session on the site.
Feel free to view it here: https://cratersedge.ca/2023/07/07/information-session-league1-ontario-july-2023/

There is no longer a direct entry option into #L1O.
In 2024, the current L1O teams split into #L1OPremier and #L1OChampionship. New teams will enter via #L2O, with pro-rel between all 3 divisions. I believe they also plan a cross-division cup competition.
It's going to be fun!

Hello friends!
@cansoccer.social is still a pretty new instance and, as such, needs some help to federate more widely. Please boost this post and help us out.
This instance is part of the #MastodonFC or #Soccerdon world, dedicated to Canadian Soccer (#CanSoc). Whether it's #CMNT, #CWNT, the Canadian Premier League (#CPL), League1 Canada (#PLSQ, #L1O, #L1BC), Canadian teams in #MLS, Canadian Players across the world, or even amateur soccer in #Canada, this is the place to be.

What about the Canadian Championship?
I'm thinking #CanChamp, but there's other stuff that may use that as well. Could also go with #CC2023, but I kinda like the idea of using a single hashtag regardless of year.
For the other Div 3 leagues:
#L1O - League1 Ontario Premier
#L1OC - League1 Ontario Championship
#L2O - League2 Ontario
#PLSQ - Premiere Ligue du Soccer du Quebec
Amateur leagues should use their initials (#FVSL, #AMSL, #SRCSL )
