A number like that during the actual Great Resignation would have been unfathomable. HR and Talent Acquisition often bear the initial brunt of a slowing labor market because if a company is not hiring and onboarding new people, why have a large personnel-related department?

People have the tendency to think the job market is irrelevant to them until they need to dive in. By then, when you're facing a layoff or a firing, it's too late to prepare ahead of time because you're in the thick of a crisis situation.

Wowee. So the bottom line is that you’re supposed to believe the labor market is tight because we still, somehow, some way, have a 3.5% unemployment rate. Again, we must ask: is this even true? The proof just doesn’t seem to be in the pudding for me.

I’m sorry but a month-and-a-half is not a quick turnaround time, IMO. It’s difficult to wait that long if you’re living paycheck-to-paycheck and it doesn’t exactly send the candidate a message that your company is efficient.
