A petition that has been up for 3 years has attracted a paltry 72k signatures after being elected by over half the membership originally in 2015
He really is not being reinstated.... and efforts to overturn that merely illustrate how few comprise the #labourLeft
A sorry excuse really - I really think many on the #labourLeft are blind to antiSemitism because that sort of racism inconveniently conflicts with their views on the injustice in Palestine
Not a lot different from Police stop & search targeting blameless young male members of ethnic communities really......
Total BS - it is quite clear Diane Abbott was in the wrong here. She has apologised now, so maybe will get the whip back but the #labourLeft are all too prone to similar judgement calls - see also that E London Mural
Well it is just somebodies Wordpress site - not really a serious proposition
A lot on the #labourLeft seem to have lost their sense of proportion.....
Well we wil see - probably, if there are not thousands of disappointed corbyn fans publicly dissing #labour so that the #toriesOut get re-elected
By my reckoning the #labourLeft lost 3 elections - Ed one, then corbyn two
So fair would be that centrists within #labour get 3 goes also - one with starmer (he'll only get one - he's out if he loses #nextGE unlike his predecessor) then another centrist..... but I'm optimistic that will not be necessary

Actually the "big lie" is that "#Corbyn secured the biggest vote share ever for Labour in 2017 "
2017 GE - Labour 40% 12,877,918 votes
1997 GE - Labour 43.2% 13,518,167 votes
Maybe "#Corbyn secured the biggest vote share ever for Labour in an election they lost"?
For the #labourLeft purity is more important than winning I think
The only bit of your post that matters it the opening "I''m still going to vote Labour...."
All that "but" stuff is unimportant - and that is why #labour only wins from the centre - because it is #centre votes that #starmer needs for victory and they will not be won by a leader from the #labourLeft
#Labour #centre #Starmer #labourLeft
I did not say "nationalisation is impossible today" - I said as a manifesto for a parliament #labour overloaded the palette in 2019 and everyone outside the #labourLeft knew it - it lost the party credibility amongst those they needed to vote for them to acheive power
So none of it got done. A more modest set of pragmatically focussed policies that bent toward the centre would have done better.
Not sure we are much different in age.
Interesting you mention these causes - CND, Vietnam, anti-apartheid
Some were won (Vietnam - Wilson kept the UK out, anti-Apartheid) but the #right have been winning since 2010
Workers have indeed changed - many traditional #labour messages do not work any more - that is why #blair won & #corbyn lost. You cannot sell #labourLeft to the UK electorate
I know that is not a popular message - but it is the truth
#right #Labour #Blair #corbyn #labourLeft
@jackLondon I agree with the first. Workers now are very different from those in the post war years as are the #Left (#LabourLeft) transformed/re-imaged via JC. I come from the era of strong trade unionism, CND, Anti Vietnam, Anti Apartheid Labour. Freedom to Strike, Freedom to Protest, free to criticise oppressive regimes without being stigmatised as being racist.
Well you might be right - I am not sure anything said at present is much to do with vision myself - more tactical to win an election
But I do not think that the #labourLeft is more representative of "workers" than #starmer & co - certainly they are more representative of labour voting graduates, but that is far from the same thing
@LJClements8 @InfoLibertarian @wlarge @mafeesh @FlixtonTom @OliverNoble
As far as I'm concerned, #blair betrayed with his #messianic advocacy of #wars - I went on #stopTheWar marches - most on those marches were #labour voters. But other policy areas - no - I'd take #blair over any #tory
We only get choice if #labour is electable - coming out for #labourLeft policies has proven a losing strategy
To be clear - I voted labour under #corbyn & kept quiet like many dismayed by his incompetence

Well for those on the #UKleftWing we have had 74 years of #toryLite - given the same criticism from the #labourLeft has been hurled at every #labourLeader who has won any election since 1945.
BTW "Broken Pledge" is not even a thing if the party does not gain power - so easy to be #farLeft and smug in your doctrinal purity
Look up #benn and #chevaline to see what happens when #reality bites an idol of the #farLeft

@wlarge @Rednotgrey
I was one of that 13million
I don't care about internal #labour rows I am not a member
I do care about removing the #toriesOut from power - and that never happens with a leader from the #labourLeft
saddling their party with a leader who had never even held a cabinet post was folly of the first order
There is no such political force as #leftPopulism in the UK - this is not #venezuela
#Labour #ToriesOut #labourLeft #leftpopulism #venezuela #Centrist
"Actually, The #LibDems polling figure just prior to #GE2019 was only around 3% higher than current polling"
Meaning you are doing less well now than just before you managed to get a grand total of 12 MPS elected?
You do see the issue, surely? As I frequently post in response to #labourLeft posters bemoaning #starmer being a #redTory in their eyes (he is of course nothing of the sort), purity in opposition is totally pointless.......
#LibDems #GE2019 #labourLeft #Starmer #redtory
oddly you will not find a single #tory who will agree with you - he is the first #labourLeader since #gordonBrown they fear
the #labourLeft hate #starmer for highlighting the fact that the #UK will not vote for a #labourLeft led #labourParty
The bit on the left of the graph is where #labour trailed under #corbyn

Mmmm it seems #wesStreeting is a #braveMan - or stupid
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-64002936
This is likely to have some on the #left #spittingBlood
Let us hope they don't read it on an #ambulanceStrike day
All very well attacking the #left at #rightWing #thinkTank - but unless he has a clearly articulated plan for the #NHS already defined & communicated to potential #labour voters he is taking a helluva risk
Personally I could not care less if the #bma or #labourLeft are upset - but where's the plan?
