With my mood restored, we made our morning dip into a longer #wildswim, with shortie wetsuits & tow floats, crossing the bay (dodging power boats & pedalos) and back for a lovely restorative, head-clearing 2km. An afternoon of competitive table tennis (yes, okay, N won) and reading by the swimming pool was our reward. This was our last night at #lacleman as in the morning we were backtracking into the mountains to meet up with UK friends newly arrived in #Morzine.

After a quick morning dip in #lacleman, we decided our daily exercise would be #cycling into Thonon-les-Bains, 15k there, mostly on easy cycle paths. We paused at the marina for lunch, pushed our bikes up a (very steep) hill through a park to see the historic centre and rolled around the pretty shopping streets. We stopped off for another #wildswim at Plage de Sciez on our return journey, then picked up some snacks and beers to finish off our lazy campsite evening in style. #beachlife #france

We had a stormy wash-out day so moved out of the mountains to a campsite near Thonon-les-Bains, on the shores of #lacleman We set up camp only to have another deluge drench us again. The morning brought sun & a chance to watch the French National championships in beach sprint/rowing, an explosive sport we never knew existed. 50m run to boat, 250m row out & back around bouys, 50m sprint to finish. Fascinating, some close finishes. Then some dips & beach time as we planned our next move #beachlife

Loving this area of the #FrenchAlps, we moved along the valley first to Le Grand Bornand, and up further again to Chinaillon. Picked up some maps and started up GR96 to Aiguille Verte and Lac de Lessy. In every direction everything was stunning, with distant views of both #MontBlanc and #LacLéman from Le Buclon ridge. Wifey dipped in the cold lake before we headed back to town, weary but elated. #hiking #wildswimming
