@janinekrippner Turns out this can also happen in lahars! Here's a spot on Mud Creek at Mount Shasta from earlier this year. That ropy thing USED to be a tree branch, as far as I can tell. Now it looks like a piece of kelp! #volcano #mudflow #lahar
