On a scorching sunny day, there is nothing better than Lake Bled, surrounded by the Julian Alps and the impressive Castle! Photo taken from Villa Bled Another of my fav places is HotelTriglav, not to mention the Old Cellar Restaurant!

Good afternoon from Lake Bled, Slovenia, where we've just done a partial circuit and enjoyed a reward of the local cream cake they make here along with some local beers too. Weather has been spitty and cold with it but the views have been great. Not sure I'd want to visit in the heart of summer as it would be a tourist and traffic hellhole then.

Lake Bled is a lake in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniolan region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. The area is a tourist destination. The lake is 35 km from Ljubljana International Airport and 55 km from the capital city, Ljubljana. Lake Bled is 4.2 km from the Lesce–Bled train station.

I love Slovenia, been there a couple of times now, but I would love to visit at Christmas, rent an apartment with a roaring fire and just admire the views covered in snow. Detach from everything and just live.
