On the third day of our trekking adventure, my elder son and I had to hike about 14 km to reach another campsite. Of these, 10 km carrying our backpacks plus 4 km uphill to reach a viewpoint where we could see another glacier, Lake Nordenskjold and Lake Pehoe (see photo) and the back of the towers, which was actually our final goal. #TorresDelPaine #Chile #trekking #lakenordenskjöld #LakePehoe #BigWCircuit #miradorfrances #hiking #camping

Exactly 4 years ago me and my elder son, just a few days before he turned 12, started a 5-day trekk in the Torres del Paine National Park. The Big W Circuit. After crossing the lake by boat and setting up our tent at Paine Grande, we walked south to see a stunning landscape (check an earlier post to see it). From the lake shore we could see Los Cuernos and Cerro Paine Grande.
