These are the first flowers of the Chaparral Bush-Mallow (Malacothamnus fasciculatus) I've seen this season. Very common up here, but typically not this early.

Also from Saturday, a tiny, inconspicuous succulent: Sand Pygmyweed, Crassula connata. The fat leaves in this pic are about a millimeter across.

Today, December 24, I saw a wild (feral?) #sunflower (Helianthus annuus) up in the rocks. There are a lot of these up here, but they don't usually bloom this early. I suspect many of them are the result of horseback riders spilling their trail mix as they bump along. Слава Україні.
