So.. Fiona Broom's #ABC Rural piece on farmers potentially shooting sheep due to their not being worth shipping to market, was not the full quid.
Per it's title, I do agree that #Farmers are likely to be in that quandary, and I have sympathy for that, definitely.
However she goes on to quote that a Butcher states buyers will be better off at butchers, on a per Kg basis, & quotes his mince price vs supermarkets .. to be 2$ better, saying buyers best shop around.
I could not agree more with the latter.
I live in #Canberra, smack dab in Sheep country, what that butcher asserts, might be true their, here it's a different story entirely. The "Urban" butcher here, being quite literally double the per Kg price for a #lamb leg. (ie the 'Meat' in question for the Titled article, no less)

At Thursday's Market #Lamb Contest, Dahmer's crossbred lamb earned Grand Champion, followed by her Hampshire claiming Reserve Grand Champion. This will be her third consecutive year placing entries into the Sale of Champions at the 121st #Missouri State Fair (#MSF121 ).

Had awesome #lambchops last night with my buddy.
I assumed they were imported from #NewZealand because they were so reasonably priced.
We were talking about how low costs have become in #Japan and how Japan could probably produce #lamb chops at lower cost than #NZ.
We asked the manager where the chops were from and it turns out they are produced domestically in #Hokkaido!

I love #lamb, but it’s hard to find a good quality lamb in Japan, especially if you are looking for a #steak.
Thus, It’s a pleasant surprise that I could found this great cut of lamb at a supermarket!
Seasoned with salt and pepper and cumin, seared with beef tallow, cooked to mid rare.
It was perfection.
