@virginia The big #FountainPen brands like #Lamy, #Pilot, #Sailor and #TWSBI seem to calibrate their edition sizes to sell out in 6-12 months, typically.

#Pilot in Japan (their home market) does in-store event exclusives that sometimes sell out same-day.

Last year’s #Lamy scala infinite orange limited edition (1,350pcs) turns out to be the first of an annual tradition! Today Lamy released the scala majestic jade limited edition (1,500pcs) at retailers worldwide (except Australia, which trails behind as usual). I’m surprised that the size of the edition has increased, since infinite orange didn’t sell out and is now being discounted all over the place. I continue to love the scala even though I agree it’s over-priced. #fountainpens

Have you found a black waterproof ink that works for you? I'm finding that carbon black ink (my absolute fave) seems to gum up the works after a time. Is there an additive I can add to the ink so this doesn't happen? Or just a different ink that still works well for sketching?

I have a new ink in my #fountainpen and I love it. It's a greyish blue from #Lamy, that exactly matches one of my pencilcases. I fear the picture doesn't show the paleness of it - here it almost looks like the standard Royal Blue ink or a blueblack - in reality it's lighter but not as light as I feared. I used to have a grey ink, that looked like pencil and while I loved it aesthetically, it gave my #BuJo a washed-out look. This is much better.

Finally plucked out a #Lamy Vista Demonstrator #fountainpen to fill up and take notes, as my new #Kaweco Steel Sport is in the next room. I'd bought this thing in a grumpy mood when I realised I'd misplaced my old AL-Sport during lockdown.

I had forgotten how horribly SCRATCHY that standard M nib is. I may have just worn the one I started with smooth, and abused the tines apart to make it write wetter at some point, but holy cats that's not a great experience.

I want to compare against a #Pilot Metropolitan at some point, but they simply aren't for sale in Europe.
