Finally gathered some courage and installed #HACS (Home Assistant Community Store). For those not familiar, it's a way to install unofficial HA integrations.
Tried the 1st one (#Landroid #Worx mower) - success, it works out of the box.
It's a cloud (not local) integration, but way better than nothing :)

Moin, unser neuer Mitbewohner ist eingerichtet und die eine oder andere Kinderkrankheit (vor allen Dingen Hindernisse und tiefe Löcher im Rasen) sind ausgebessert. Jetzt dreht das Kind also seine Runden doch es bleibt bei einem Problem: es fehlt noch der passende Name. Und jetzt seid ihr dran. Über Namensvorschläge eurerseits würde ich mich freuen.
