@misterfun You reminded me of an interview w Carlton in which he talks about "relearning" his own Kid Charlemagne solo after not playing Steely Dan for 35 yrs. He said he totally killed it in the performance he was preparing for, but then he played in LA - and didn't kill it. Next day, the LA Times said "Carlton flubs famous solo." He tells the story in the 1st min or so of this video.
