Just got the email from #LatitudeFinancial saying my critical ID details have been breached (ID number, address, DOB, etc), even though I haven’t had an account with them for 6 years. It is outrageous that companies are allowed to store information for that long, and basically suffer no repercussions when they lose it all. They ought to have crippling, punitive fines imposed for such neglectful and unnecessary risk taking.
