Ruth Smith, professor and Graceland College and the wife of Fred M Smith, 3rd prophet of Community of Christ and Joseph Smith Jr. grandson, was very feminist. Love that for her and her family.

she went up to JSIII (2nd prophet, Fred M's Dad) who was officiant of their (surprise) wedding and was like "promise to not ask me to obey in our wedding vows."

JSIII was like "dw. i wasn't going to do that."

love that for both of them.

like please don't choke out your sister churches. we are hardly rivals & should be friendly and ecumenical. you're already the biggest, richest and the most well known, so therefore set the tone for perceptions of the rest of us. we smaller branches of the Restoration too have special gifts of the Spirit, and we have much more to gain by learning from each other

i encourage members to attend ecumenical #LatterDaySaint / #Mormonism groups and be respectful and open to different POVs

opportunity presented to me to attend a church of jesus christ (bickertonite) service online. was talking to a #bickertonite elder last night and learning about their church, beliefs, and expressions of worshiping God. they are very pentecostal. interesting! pentecostal latter day saints (guess that makes me a methodist episcopal #LatterDaySaint . i think i will attend.

#mormonism (but like for most #LatterDaySaint communities. they (as a whole) don't like to be called #mormon)

i'm starting to get that coffee is slightly edgy humor among #CommunityOfChrist members. i love it despite being a coffee/caffiene procautionist (disability-health stuff)

the main CoC adjacent #podcast platform called

and the logo is the temple as a coffee stain and most of the podcast series have #coffee based names. like

"nu'brew"

"coffee to go"

a. i think rainbow looks great on the Temple. rainbows & temples have matching spiritual vibes. i think both should be a reminder of our covenants with God as we reflect on our relationship with the Divine 🕊

b. it does take courage to be present in traditional religious spaces! i AM courageous & this shirt is a good reminder.

Community of Christ has a specific call to build Zionic communities. I want Saints as a whole to know that Zion can be where ever we are.. In the CoC Inspired Version of the Bible (Genesis 7:23) and the tCoJCoL-dS Book of Moses 7:18 says:

"And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them."

i just finished my scripture study lesson!

the scripture is 1 Corinthians 3:1-9 and I supported it with Alma 16:170 (LDS Alma 32:41) and D&C 50:8e (LDS D&C 50:40)

the ability to prophesize, see, and revelate isn't limited to one man, nor a few lofty officials.

it's a gift from the Divine given to many across humankind, and it's something we can do in community together.

oh, it's just LDS church shade bc they call us mainline protestants 😭

we are valid descendants of Joseph Smith's church and a part of the #LatterDaySaint movement (and may be even mormonier bc our prophets actually relevate, we write new scripture, and we prophesize. oop 🕶)

but also self critiqued on racism in CoC and needing to further LGBTQ+ affirmation at the World Church level. and gently admonished to not be complacent just bc we accomplished some things as there is much work to do.
