Currently, :sncf: :fluo: operates good old #BB67400 diesel locos hauling #RRR push pull carriages.

From Strasbourg / La Wantzenau one can either take the TER train back to Lauterbourg (with connection back to Woerth or #Karlsruhe #RK, Germany) or continue from Strasbourg on.

For Germans, the Elsass-Ticket-Plus might be a cheap EUR 7.50 option for a ticket (available at vending machine in Lauterbourg). Otherwise, regular :fluo: fares are also available.

Feel free to spontaneously hop in, I will definitely catch it.

A cute SNCF class X 76500 / Bombardier Autorail à Grande Capacité seen at #Lauterbourg 🥺. I like the TER fluo color scheme and the very confortable seats inside.

On the way back, we took a #TERFluo train from #Rountzenheim to #Lauterbourg, but unfortunately, this #CrossBorderRail trip turned into a #CrossBorderBus as well, as the Lauterbourg-#Wörth route is currently replaced by buses, I guess due to lack of staff as well as implementing the interface between the new Wörth signal box and the French signal box.

At least the bus stops next to the railway station in Lauterbourg, but it does take double the time as the train (and noone was on that bus cross-border either)

I should stop reading on Wikipedia: Starting from 2024, there will be new trains connecting #Strasbourg via #Lauterbourg to #Cuddlesruhe #RK of the type TER Régiolis / SNCF class B 83500 / Alstom Coradia Polyvalent - they have both a serial console and OpenWrt afaik. Guess who's going to have fun?

Bis 2025 sollen zehn zusätzliche Regionalzüge auf der grenzüberschreitenden Strecke fahren. Von #Offenburg aus sind wiederum #Freiburg und #Karlsruhe erreichbar. Der Verkehr Richtung Nordbaden wird in das Express-Netz eingegliedert, sobald die Gleisstrecke Richtung #Lauterbourg modernisiert ist. Für die Strecke von #Mulhouse nach #Müllheim sind ab 2025 deutlich mehr Hin- und Rückverbindungen vorgesehen. Das wären täglich 17 statt der bislang sieben.
