Update time: Both sleeves are done! π

Recently, I asked you what to do with the stitch patterns on my website. The feedback was clear, so I went ahead and gave them their own overview page. You can find the link in the menu, next to the tutorials on https://www.lavisch.com π

#FlashbackThursday Back in 2020 I encountered the phrase "knit the knits and purl the purls". I thought it could sure use some extra explanation!

In this picture, I just broke the green yarn. There is just too little left in the ball to finish another repeat of the psychedelic striping. I can't wait to see it blocked! So, now remains the rest of the turquoise yarn to knit up. I'm pondering how to continue: in the same patterning without YO's or with? π€

With this spiral sock, I'm about to reach a new color! π

Progress is a tad slow on this project, but I'll get there in time. Of course, when shooting this picture, Donut also dropped by. She has this thing for circular knitting needles and row counters, and always tries to steal them. I haven't gotten through to her yet that these are my toys, not hers π
#FlashBackThursday Back in 2017 I designed this shawl to use up the Γstex LΓ©ttlopi yarn I dyed myself with madder. The resulting color reminded me of that gorgeous burned orange color so often found in the hills of Tuscany. So I named the pattern after the Dutch name for the region π

In the slip stitch diamond stitch pattern, little diamonds are formed by slipping stitches and keeping the working yarn at the front of the work. Then a stitch is worked from underneath the strands of yarn, using the k1 uls stitch I showed you 2 weeks ago π

Only one section of sleeve-ribbing still to go! Next, is picking up the stitches for the button band π

Last time, I told you all about the mishap I had with the decrease rounds in the sleeves of my green cardigan. Well, I'm happy to report that I've made some wonderful progress on the sleeves! I'm almost done with the decrease rounds π

#StashDiveSaturday Recently, I was in London with my mom, and, of course, I had to get myself some souvenir yarn! At @JohnLewisRetail@twitter.com I found this lovely West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab DK. I bought enough to make myself a new cardigan or sweater! π

#FlashBackThursday A couple of years ago, I made this tutorial about a specific kind of bobble that is described in the Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible by Hitomi Shida. Visit the page for more details!

Remember that blue and green aran weight yarn I posted about a couple of days ago? Here is the start of the project I'm using it in! π

With the green cardigan, I'm unfortunately not as far as I last showed you.... I used the wrong decrease rate for the sleeves. So, I ripped both sleeves back to just before the second decrease round. π Well, onwards!

#stashdivesaturday With all that relatively fine-gauged knitting going on, I'm yearning for something a bit faster. So, I dove in my stash and found some aran weight yarns. I have one more skein each of the green & blue. Enough for a lovely project! π

While my Hazelnoot features nupps, it can, of course, also be knit with beads instead! π

Hazelnoot is now available! The luscious wool and silk yarn used, inspired me to create a delicate lace design, based on traditional Estonian stitch patterns. These, of course, include nupps. Find the pattern on

#flashbackthursday You know it can happen easily: a short distraction. And when your attention is somewhere else, a purl st is worked instead of a knit, or vice versa. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to fix! π

Remember this design? The test knitting is almost done, so the pattern for this stole design will be released soon! π

I've also done some knitting on the striped stole. Here you can see how the color sequence is working out π
