@bhawthorne I got #MECFS from mono not Covid. Back in the spring of 2020 when I started low-dose naltrexone I thought I got myself into #remission. After the first dose I was sleeping through the night, I could get up in the morning and not go immediately back to bed, I didn’t need a nap, just a peaceful relaxation midday sometimes but not full sleep. I was working part time at the time and even though we were in semi lockdown I was still going to work because I worked by myself. So anyway I told my boss I could work both Saturday and Sunday because I thought I could.

Omg hahahhaha NOPE. I was able to do it for four weeks before I crashed so hard I thought I had Covid, I had to do some radical resting to just get back to baseline, and I never got back to the feeling of “remission” I got from LDN even though it is still life changing, I didn’t get back to the level I was at.

I’m just grateful I was able to get back to my new #baseline where I can sleep through the night unless I’m in a crash, I don’t have to nap every day but I still have to nap sometimes. The #LDN is still totally worth it, I still get about 4 to 6 usable hours a day whereas it was only like 1 to 2 before I tried the LDN, but when I thought I was in remission it was so wonderful I’m so mad I destroyed it for a part-time job.

@Tweetfiction @Terra But you guys, 0.5 mg of low dose naltrexone has had it growing back so fiercely I’m afraid I’m going to lose my widows peak because my hairline keeps creeping down my forehead. Seriously if I remember to come back to this later after I take a shower and get myself together I will share a picture of all the new growth it’s absolutely amazing. if #LDN stopped working for #MECFS I’m pretty sure I would continue to buy it just for the new #hair growth.

@ahimsa_pdx @TransitBiker I have #MECFS from #EBV and #LDN saved my life. I just take 0.5 mg every morning and I saw results after the first dose. I used to only have about 1 to 2 usable hours a day and now I can use more like 4 to 6, but the best part is I sleep through the night now most nights. I used to wake up at four or 5 AM wide awake but completely exhausted, after my first dose of LDN I slept until 9 AM the next day. And I don’t need to nap every day anymore.

But if I skip it for more than a few days those symptoms come right back. And some days it can’t save me and I need to take 10 mg of prednisone or Adderall to make it through the day.

I've never been one to "fall" asleep, I always intentionally *go* to sleep. But a few times lately, I've woken up at 2am, all the lights on, netflix still playing, like wtf happened!?

When I describe this to people they're like "Yeah? that's... normal?"

Also, waking up is harder. Like, I don't just wake up and then be awake, there's this whole "waking up" process, where I'm groggy and slow.

Which I'm told is also "normal". I don't prefer these effects. #actuallyautistic #ldn

I started taking #LDN 3 days ago for treatment of #LongCovid symptoms. This side effect is not indicated in the literature, but I get so hungry in the afternoons and evenings! I am ready to gnaw on my own fingers. Anyone ever heard of this?

@kims @dangillmor as I get older it seems compounding pharmacies can help me a lot more than medications they make commercials about. #LDN is the only thing that has ever helped #MECFS that comes from the pharmacy. CBDRSO is also amazing & I but that from a dispensary in Maine. And Medicare enjoys that because they don’t pay for any of those things.
