With the Ultraleap Leap Motion Controller 2 there's a very clear improvement and I'm already working on new trigger gestures to go along with the continuous gestures. I'm hopeful that this time around playing notes with gestures will feel inspiring and musical.

Upgraded hand tracker arrived (Stereo IR170). It's still really jank, and not worth the money over leap motion, but I can /finally/ give a middle finger with a reasonable chance of it getting tracked.

Screentop and desk mounted modes are still shit and unreliable, the software seems unable to use the extra viewing angle it has and doesn't track hands that are clearly visible.

For chest mount though, it should reduce the issue of hands dropping in/out when I'm keyboarding.

Going through my office closet and ran across the Leap Motion controller I bought and used for five minutes when they first came out in 2013. I'm surprised to find that it's still a popular piece of hardware (particularly for streamers/vtubers). One of the members of the #HardwareHackLab brought a #LookingGlass display tonight. And I must say I'm quite amazed. I was skeptical at first. Videos of the device don't render well, I think. But seeing it for real, it's quite bluffing. The 3D impression totally works. And coupled with a #LeapMotion , makes it a fun interactive tool.
