What you definitely don't want to do is then use the nifty Edit feature ("delete and re-draft" in my app at least) on the first Toot in the thread.

That's what I just did, and it seemed to disconnect Toot 1 from the rest of the thread, so I had to do all the subsequent toots again to keep them together and in sequence!
