Is there a resource for Mandarin Chinese learners that makes it easy to create multiple flashcards for the same word, i.e. one that shows the Chinese characters and asks for the Pinyin, one that shows the Chinese characters and asks for the meaning, one that shows the Pinyin and asks for the meaning etc.? Because I'm not doing all that manually 😩
So far I've been testing myself on meaning and pronunciation at once but it's not ideal. I would prefer an Android app but Windows or browser-based is also fine. #LanguageLearning #LearningChinese #LearningMandarin #LanguageLovers

In the early phase of your #Chinese studies, spend 95% of your time “immersing” yourself in learning Chinese characters and just 5% on “outputting” through speaking and writing. You can only produce what you took in. #learnChinese #learnMandarin #speakMandarin #LearningMandarin

We communicate in language chunks. So, it’s better to grow your vocabulary by learning words in phrases & sentences than learning from flashcards of individual vocabulary words without much context. #learnChinese #learnMandarin #speakMandarin #ChineseVocabulary #LearningMandarin

Now that I've found an instance I intend to stay on, it's #introduction time!
Hi. I'm Ocean, your local 30+ nonbinary language nerd with a current focus on Chinese languages (Mandarin and Cantonese ... for now). I'm chronically ill and don't (can't) get out much, so I spend a lot of time on the internet.
I'm also neurodivergent in ways that affect my ability to socialise, but I've been making an effort to get better at it lately and perhaps this recent shift in the social media climate will turn out to be exactly the push that I needed - we shall see.
I like to ramble about the various languages I speak/am learning and occasionally turn into an amateur linguist if some random phoneme attracts my attention. Not sure what I'll end up talking about in this place, exactly, so be prepared to see anything from jokes and shitposts to personal musings and complaints, as well as the occasional comment on pop culture - which I am usually behind on - and the Chinese dramas/movies I watch both for language practice and entertainment.
I try not to get involved in discourse much if I can help it. Also not an activist, but I would describe myself as a leftist of vaguely anarchist leanings with a heavy focus on #DisabilityJustice.
When I manage to read a book, it's usually SFF. Big fan of dragons both Western and Asian. 🐉
I hope I can make some friends here! And no I have never heard of brevity what is that

慢慢的,一切都滑向另一切……
一个人也必将让位给另一个……
慢慢的。一切的
一切:空空如也!
Slowly, everything slips toward another everything . . .
and everyone will surely make way for another.
Slowly. The everything
of everything: is nothingness!
[From The Everything of Everything]
Begins:
Slowly. The everything of everything
in the drawers of memory
will find its own place.
After lightning ends, the sky is empty again.
