I’m going to a ren fair this weekend (first time ahhhhh!!!) but my costume doesn’t have any pockets.

So I made a small shoulder bag out of some pieces of scrap leather to put my cell phone in.

I know it’s not “perfect”, but this is my first time and I’m pretty proud of it 😊

Besides, I wanted it to have a pretty “rustic” look and I think I achieved that.

Just made a sheath for my Morakniv 120 whittling knife. It’s all wobbly and wonky but I’m so proud!

I didn't get all the leather I should have, and so I have discovered that the only thing separating a cool wizard hat from a derpy gnome hat is the brim.

I made a leather slapper paddle in solid black with a folded over flap as a part of a class at Tandy. Approximate measurements in the alt text. Who wants to use it on me? 😈

My dude had built the bench himself, btw. As far as I could tell it was just straight up the Versahorse design, and it did just about everything you could ask for. Makes me inspired to try and build it for myself. Now if I could only find the time and an exorbitant amount of 21mm plywood...

Got a chance to give my newly crafted Big Scary Strap a try the other day. Gave a certain lady a few tentative strokes with it. She... didn't care for it, unfortunately. Too much force gets focused on the tip, so it's kind of a dull thud with an asymmetrical sting on the outside of one buttock. Which I totally get why she wasn't crazy about, that's not the kind of spanking I wanna give (or receive).

Starting to think that just maybe there's a technique to using heavy straps that I haven't quite gotten the hang of yet. Anyone wanna HMU with some pointers? Is there a trick to distributing the sensation more evenly?

During my journey into , I talked with one fellow who is also a member of @blufclub. I have made my first biker wallet using a template I purchased from Tandy Leather as a starting point. I might want to make some tweaks here and there before making more of them (I have been considering doing piping) when I am actually able to do so and will be working with the club at that time. So here's my prototype for a BLUF biker wallet. I know that I will be able to get a better trace of the logo in time with practice and improve my tooling and dying techniques on vegtanned leather.

As an person who has started enjoying the exploration of I found out that I wanted to make a pair of suspenders. I had to watch the video on YouTube from Weaver Leathercraft several times before I understood how to make this correctly and get assistance with another person for proper measurements. I also needed to take into account the length of clasps used.

The buckles and back piece sit more or less on my back and have been secured with both hand stitching and large nickel plated rapid rivets. Again I went with grommets just like my belt, but noted that I probably would have preferred smaller grommets.

It's kind of difficult to get a backside view with my phone or a more accurate view of the suspenders on me from the front.

I learned that I also need to use the flat surface for setting the rivets rather than the tool I was using as that only works correctly with setting snaps.

Hello, this is my first time posting here. I'm an autistic dyspraxic gay kinky bear cub in the Chicago metropolitan area. I used to study for embedded systems, but recently found a passion in leatherworking. I am happy to put up some of the issues I face and projects I am working on.

I also absolutely love the pins that Retrophiliac makes, so be sure to check them out.

Continuing on my journey as an person, I actually decided to try making a collar and leash to feed into my interest in kink as a .

I learned that the density of the rivets can make something look not as good. There was also a discussion I had with someone who actually works in leatherworking and suggested that spacing away from the edge is also critical for stability of the piece. Still learning.

Will make a different post modeling it.

As a part of my journey to learn about which was partly inspired by my interest in the fetish scene... I actually decided to make some outfits for my teddy bear. Might do some more with these later, but I'm happy with how they turned out so far.

I used some leather scraps I bought from Etsy, but I didn't actually start working on this until I was more comfortable working with this type of leather.

They are much better than the outfit I bought from Amazon 5 years ago which actually started to fall apart because it was cheaply made and was completely fake only designed to look like leather.

The following outfits were made for my teddy bear:
Biker jacket with a buckle, jeans, the snaps etc, and a pair of chaps.. and a biker vest
Uniform shirt with uniform pants

I still need to make adjustments for the chaps (put together a buckle and lengthen the waist strap) and the uniform pants (finish leg cuffs and belt loops)

One of my projects from a class at Tandy Leather. This was a carving I did on a round piece of leather. It took me a while to do it and was lucky enough to have one on one instruction as I needed guidance on how to use the tools properly. I learned how to use a stylus to trace a pattern from paper to leather, a swivel knife to make surface cuts in the leather, a beveler to define the edges, a backgrounder to push the background down, a pear shader to define the leaves and petals, a veiner to define the stem and leaves, and a seeder for making the seeds.

I then dyed the flower pattern after the class was over with dye markers. I dyed the background royal blue, the flower petals red, the seeds yellow, and the leaves/stems green.
