1/2 Had the #LEEP this morning and am having complicated feelings about it. I’m glad my partner was there. I didn’t advocate for myself particularly well, but it would have been way worse if he hadn’t been there. I don’t ever want to go back to that doctor again. If you’re reading this and are ever in control of anesthesia for patients, please believe them when they say they are resistant to local anesthetic.

1/9 Next week, I’m getting a #LEEP, a loop electrosurgical excision procedure, for treatment and diagnostic purposes. We found precancerous cells at a variety of stages (including what used to be called carcinoma in situ) covering my entire cervix and endocervix during my last round of biopsies. So far, we don’t think anything has spread. But we’re now at the point of “when,” not “if.” Especially since I don’t have an immune system that can combat any mild dysplasia on its own.
