Mark Fisher nicely put it: "In any case, rationing of some sort is inevitable. The issue is whether it will be collectively managed, or whether it will be imposed by authoritarian means when it is already too late." There is no way of saving the planet with the current consumption levels. Who's gonna take the decisions on that topic is the number one political question.

I really do think that Mark Fisher's work is important and insightful, accessible and engaging. His accessibility also stems from the fact that he took absolutely seriously the political undercurrents of popular culture, which means that he took serious popular forms themselves, both as forms of engagement and as scholarly subjects.
