All other focuses and assertions are secondary, and differences within this definition only bring more specialization and understanding of a revolution whose nature and outcome will depend on the material conditions of the place and time.

When I think about #LeftUnity, I think about how when I was at protests back in 2017-18, it didn't seem to matter what your tendency was, just that we were all in the streets to stop #fascists from holding rallies. Isn't that a worthy place to start to try and work to create a world with room for a left wing political spectrum?

I'm fairly certain socialism.social as a whole is a pretty small server, hence it being quiet. I could be wrong I suppose.

I've found Kolektiva to be pretty open with me despite not firmly aligning as an anarchist. Further, I've just set up an instance on leftist.network that I need to finish setting up, that one looks promising at least for the potential for a #LeftUnity space!

Debating ideological differences might be intellectually stimulating, but the truth is that we do not know the exact material conditions under which a revolution would take place.

@comradeferret I largely agree. The left has become resurgent in recent decades (in the US at least), but is still historically weak and fractured. #LeftUnity is critical in such a weakened state, spending time fighting each other over sectarian differences is counter-productive. The differences between us only matter once we hold power, which we currently do not have -- nor will we have anytime in the foreseeable future.

@flowless but a comradeferret is just someone who disapproves of children having any value beyond what you have to tolerate for your government job. You can disagree over whether a social worker should have even an ounce of love in their heart for any child, but that doesn't matter to modern ideals. #leftunity
