But I see the popular accounts from certain once popular sites just don't do alt text.

They're still stuck on corporate, ad-based mode. They aren't quite at Fediverse level yet.

You see, what they don't seem to get is that you can literally run your own #instance here. One of the gripes of #Facebook and #Twitter was #ShadowBanning and #censorship.

So if spreading your word is your primary goal, you can create a left wing echo chamber, control it entirely, and let your followers join.

That content could then be cross posted to other platforms.

But that isn't appealing for some reason.

Actually, it seems there's a reasonable amount of popularity on here over #Threads

It seems most people won't take up something until a corporation or corporate media tells them to do it.

Threads will take off, it'll be in all the news with people saying it's the next #SocialMedia thing.

The immigrants from #Twitter will switch to Threads, the alternative, #LeftWing media commentators will all appear on the #Fediverse via Threads ...
