@vickyveritas John became legally blind around 20 years ago with 90% vision loss dues to macular bleeds from PXE #PXE. #LegallyBlind. He has online some vision all the way peripheral. To see he stands sideways to a person or subject or TV. We haven’t talked by phone for 2 months so was glad to arrange a call through his wife. BTW he’s still an avid online fan, reader and artist.

D'oh! I've been going to my profile page to make posts. After I did that last time, I saw the post button on my main feed. Either I really am blind or unobservant. (Actually, I am #legallyblind but I can't use that as my excuse.)

There are certain disadvantages, as you can imagine I'm sure, to being severely vision impaired.

Such as walking into the kitchen to make tea, and seeing something small and dark on the top of your stove and having the requisite "Fuck me, it's a cockroach" reaction.

Only it's not a cockroach.

On closer inspection it was a pea. Legless, antennaeless, having survived my tender lunch ministrations from the day before, but unnoticed and abandoned on the cooktop.
