It's hacky and bad, as I'm not a pro writer.

But it's mine, dammit and after a year+ I told the story I wanted to tell.

I'll play with them more, as I prefer a more action oriented, yet not hopelessly dark (as I felt DnA's Legion was) story.

I didn't want all the deaths from Legion Lost. I wanted to undo the dumb mistake of the changing of Kinetix. I wanted to make sure the Reboot had some LGBT representation.

The second thing that came out of this was that if DC is basically ignoring my favorite Legion (the Reboot), why not just tell the story I want to tell and "play with the toys" so to speak.

So I wrote fanfic.

It's the Reboot Legion, but my conceit is that instead of the LSH v4 series ending with issue 125, Legion Lost never happens and the events of my story unfold.

The short summary is about what I expected - A lot of good concepts, good writing with a lot of shortcuts, and Coipel's art which got SO much better over time.

Wow.
So a year and a half ago, I was involved in a discussion on the Legion World forum site. The question was whether the Abnett/Lanning run of the Legion went too long & where it should have ended, if anywhere.
They are generally lauded as among the best Legion writers, but I beg to differ; I think they were GOOD, but not GREAT, as they tended to lean into the "Grim n Gritty" Warhammer 40k style that was the rage around 00.

Publishing this post, as there's not as much #comics discussion as I'd like on Mastodon.

This is a commission from a while back from the awesome Jeff Moy showing Legionnaires Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy, but with alternate costumes. The idea I had at the time was to do a Legion version that took place in the #Traveller #RPG universe but it never took off, d mostly because of work schedule
