Doing some #LeGuessWho homework...I already had my eye on the Holy Tongue album after a glowing write-up from Phil Freeman. As he says, you could slip most of the album into a post-punk dub DJ set without anyone blinking an eye, but more than PIL or African Head Charge, “Susuro” reminds me of Can circa Ege Bamyasi, or prime Mouse on Mars. A shoe-in if Kevin Martin ever resurrects the Macro Dub Infection compilation series!

I only clocked that @sotmeu and the #LeGuessWho festival are on the same weekend, and I was looking forward to going to both 😭 Already got Saturday and Sunday tickets for the latter, though maybe there is some way I can attend both given that Antwerp and Utrecht aren't that far apart 🤔

Onlangs naar #LeGuessWho geweest, dat festival is in meerdere opzichten per definitie divers, en daarmee mijn liked songs-lijstje weer aangevuld. En ja, #MichaelNyman maakt inderdaad klassieke filmmuziek en #Primus is, nou ja, typisch Primus. 😉

Als je volgend jaar weer vier dagen naar #LeGuessWho wil, dan is het verstandig om NU alvast kaartjes te kopen. Ik heb net al €35 meer betaald dan mijn vaste festivalkameraad @stefandekker twee dagen geleden betaalde. Inmiddels hebben ze 50% van hun pass-partouts verkocht en bij 80% zetten ze de verkoop voorlopig even stop.

Oumou Sangaré, het laatste concert dat ik afgelopen zondag tijdens Le Guess Who? fotografeerde. Prachtig, de muziek ook!

#LeGuessWho Day 4: verrrry slow breakfast, Centraal museum for some difficult video art and a screening of Jeremy Deller’s Everybody in the Place (great..v. emotional watch, not that I was at all hungover), couple of recovery beers in Cafe Derat (delicious tripel/geueze hybrid), Thai dinner and…Thiago Nassif, Horse Lords, Kee Avil, GNOD (again) and the Bug (feat. Dis Fig, Flowdan and Logan)
