Spent 30-40 minutes sat along the bank of the Shonai River (Kasugai side) and just waited with a telephoto lens to see what'd come my way. Turns out quite a lot. The snake wasn't even slightly bothered by my presence. (All identified with iNaturalist - https://www.inaturalist.org/people/sbreslin4791)
This will be my version of old-man fishing when I'm retired.

Fisheye experiments.
Fisheye lenses are a new thing for me and I do find them tricky to use.
I’ve been experimenting with using using fisheye lenses to full effect but without the super exaggerated distortion and still have much work to do.
Also. Looking back at my images over the last six months, I seem to have a thing for staircases 🤷♂️
