Going pretty well on my trike.
It's a whole new learning curve as it's so different than a bicycle.
You have to steer more. I know that sounds funny, but on a bike you kind of shift your weight to turn.
Can't do that on the trike. But, I do say constantly to myself, you can't fall off, you can't fall off.
So i find myself more & more confident as I ride along.

Back on the bike today.
Haven't been on it since the last fall. I had become quite disheartened & thought I'll never get the hang of it.
Buti did 4 laps today.
Back to baby steps, but at least I did get on & didn't fall.

Had to use my bell 🔔 for the first time as I approached a dog walker from behind.
He was walking a black lab puppy who was enthusiastically trying to get to me.
I stopped and patted him.
Beautiful doggo 🐶
And you meet the nicest people on the bike path.

Did 7 laps of our court. 2 laps of the bike path.
The lowered seat is a revelation.
I nearly had a fall but managed to save myself.
I'm getting heaps of support from family, friends & strangers.
And of course you guys too.
I can't even explain the encouragement it gives me.

5 laps of our court (cul de sac).
The return lap is uphill.
Still not ready to attempt my nemesis 'round the block' since the fall, but I am gaining confidence.
My lovely neighbour has a lovely brother who is a bicycle enthusiast. He keeps tinkering with my bike to suit me.
He lowered the seat today & it felt heaps better. They believe a lower seat will stop me from falling.
Might try my nemesis tomorrow.

Got a small bike ride in.
Not far, just trying to get confidence back.
I'm a big girl, so yesterday's crash was very heavy.
Gotta admit I was scared on the bike.
But I'll be back at it tomorrow. A little longer.

I DID IT! Conquered my nemesis 'round the block' twice!
Came across 2 walkers started to wobble.
I yelled I'm sorry I'm new they said no worries & promptly got out the way.
Then I passed a mother & son complete strangers & I yelled 'I DID IT! I WENT ROUND THE BLOCK!
The Mum yelled 'you go girl!'
And I've discovered when you're out there, trying to get healthy, trying to lose weight, people are nice. Really nice.

It was too hot yesterday & my pride had been hurt & confidence knocked.
But I'm not gonna let the damn thing beat me. I'm too stubborn for that.

Crashed & burned folks.
Had the helmet on the right way.
Rode on the paths really well, really steady. Did that for awhile. Went quite fast too, not riding the brakes.
So thought I could do round the block. Obviously not ready for that cos I crashed on take off, bike on top of me. Bent handle bars & seat. Neighbour fixed it for me.
Knocked my confidence a bit, but I'll get back on tomorrow.
