I finally took some time to write a home page at https://jitseniesen.github.io/ . Not much there yet, but hopefully it will be easier to flesh out now that the framework is there.

I used #lektor and used the styling from their webpage but I removed some of the more advanced stuff (the single-page layout, SCSS). It would perhaps have been easier for me to write plain HTML, but this will hopefully be better in the long run.

@kev Looking at them they do seem similar. #Lektor has a reasonable default, but I'm guessing you would want to modify that to your specific needs. That can require some thought and work to set up, but I don't think that would be a hurdle for you, and probably worth it, if afterwards you can use the interface for handling the content the way you like.

It was created by Armin Ronacher (@mitsuhiko) of #Flask (etc.) fame, and it's byline includes it's "for people who do not want to make a compromise between a #CMS and a static blog engine."

It's in #Python, which was important to me, and it's customizable in a way I appreciate.

I’m also trying to be more consistent about writing #blog entries. Tried to put together a quick post in my #Lektor blog yesterday and couldn’t figure out where to place a local image for inclusion in the post… still fighting with it.

That in mind, any suggestions for a simple #StaticSiteGenerator? I would like to stick with a #Python one, if only to reinforce my (slowly) budding knowledge of the language. I’ve heard of Hugo, but haven’t delved into it. Recommendations welcome!
