I didn't feel disappointed with its capabilities. I moved away from #LemmyWorld instance to #Geddit, maintained by Sir @stux. So far, so nice. Tip: cross-post a lot and find more communities via #LemmyVerse (a.k.a. Lemmy Explorer)!

"A couple of the bigger Lemmy instances had several user accounts compromised through stolen authentication cookies. Some of these cookies belonged to admins, these admin cookies were used to deface instances. Only users that opened pages with malicious content during the incident were vulnerable. #LemmyWorld was hacked right when I desperately needed either another post about Threads and those normies who are just so normie or one with everyone gravely agreeing signing up for mastadon is very complicated and hard for most people.

These people need naps on grass in sunshine so very much. Then when rested, I will make them sign up for then actually use tumblr for a month. Without browser extensions.

Whelp, looks like Lemmy.world has gotten hacked. Site looks very strange right now, then autoloads a suspicious black video. I'd avoid for a bit until @ruud and crew sort it out

#Lemmy settles on its being central instance: lemmy.world (#lemmyworld) run by @ruud

Its numbers are now big enough to be counted amongst the top 5-10 masto instances! (https://fedidb.org/network/instance/lemmy.world) as #threadiverse become the “second platform” by size.

Apart from running it well and keeping up to date (recent update seems to have gone well, with a nice example of instances and admins helping each other!?), some redditers seek the big instances?? Curious how communities will adapt.
