This is amazing. 85-year-old #actor #WarrenBeatty is engaged in a decades-long #troll campaign to retain the rights to make a #movie sequel to 1990’s #DickTracy.

First in 2011, and most recently last week, #TCM has aired no-budget 20-some minute TV specials in which he complains in character as the wrist-radio-equipped yellow-fedoraed #comics detective to #film critic #LeonardMaltin.

The character is now his until 2027 when it enters the #PublicDomain.

I started watching #TheMélièsMystery on #HBOMax last week and cringed when I realized the horrible #LeonardMaltin was involved, and immediately stopped watching when they showed a clip with several characters in #Blackface without any commentary or explanation as to why that clip was included.

Never use any depiction of Blackface without providing clear context and an explanation as to why it's relevant, preferably before you show it.

Of course Maltin is involved in such a project
