I just got home from seeing “Leopoldstadt” on Broadway. The run-up to the Holocaust is well-trodden ground but not, before, by as great a playwright as Tom Stoppard. Given the topic and playing in New York, the audience was mostly folks like me - middle-class Jews in their 60’s and 70’s. It felt like it was aimed straight at us - with the message “it’s still happening, and now they’re coming for you and your families.”
