I'm compiling #uboot to support #lepotato #s905x for #fedoraiot ... There doesn't seem to be a more canonical way of doing it... #gibberish

#LePotato, aka my "HamPotato", is now pulling double duty as a #digipeater and PC interface to my #icom IC7100, plus it's serving my public #gopher page.
The screen res issue was "fixed" with an HDMI dummy plug, and #wsjtx installed easily enough. On my main PC, #GridTracker receives data from WSJTX over the WIFI.
As it's currently configured, though, I need to log into the potato via vnc to switch between #DireWolf and WSJTX. The next step in the project will be automating this changeover.

#LePotato is now installed into an RPI 3B case. The board is a bit loose in the case despite the RPI fitting snuggly, so the board is apparently a slightly different size than the pi.
Direwolf and rigctl configuration was quick and easy, copying over from the pi without issue. It's now up and running as a digipeater and igate.
So far, the only issue I've encountered is the screen resolution, which seems to be stuck at 720x576 for some reason. 🫤
Recently received a #LePotato board by @librecomputer.
My goal is to use this as a more power efficient replacement to my #RaspberryPi 3b, which currently serves as an #aprs #digipeater, #igate, and remote #wsjtx host.
First impressions: the documentation is pretty lacking, but the board itself seems well made.
More to come!

@ComputerGuy_1028 Welcome. You might want to follow @geerlingguy who just happens to be working on a project with the #LePotato by @librecomputer
BENCHMARKFEST 2023 UPDATE
Le Potato testing is complete as is retesting of the Inovato Quadra and Rock 5B. Still waiting to hear back about a possible trade to acquire a Raspberry Pi 4B. Retesting of Mini PCs will commence later tonight.

@Stark9837 @Edent In recent days I have read a couple articles suggesting the #LePotato as a good replacement for the #RaspberryPi 3B - I have not used it personally so can't say how compatible it is with a real Raspberry Pi though. Be aware the ethernet connection is only 10/100, not GB.
The hiatus is over, I’ve posted to my blog again!
After setting up #Homebridge multiple times due to power loss related OS corruption, I decided this time would be the time I would document the process. I also switched #LePotato over to #Raspbian in the hopes that it will handle the semi-frequent power outages more gracefully.
So here’s my guide to setting up Homebridge on Raspbian and getting your first plugin (a #Kasa plugin) installed and configured!

I can't get sound working on the #LePotato core.
Everything else is a delight, but sound is critical to enjoying these #RetroGames.
What little I can learn suggests that #RetroPie and #Armbian have dropped (sound) support for Pi2 equivalent hardware. Fair enough.
While I can compile alternate C flags with the best of them, $55 will get me a Pi4 equivalent #LibreComputer #Renegade - so I'll try that next.

Here is (almost) everything you need to know if you are considering the Le Potato as a viable #raspberrypi replacement.

#Arcade custom build update:
- #Arcade1Up uses such thin wires for the control deck, I was almost unable to reuse the stock controls.
- Pac-Man Legacy uses a sideways monitor so I've been learning how to rotate each app.
- #EmulationStation looks fantastic, though.
Surprisingly, the controls feel a bit more responsive in #RetroArch on a #LibreComputer #LePotato than they were on the native #Android board from #Arcade1Up. But there's almost no noticable difference (both very good).

After accidentally nuking my #LePotato last weekend, I spent the late hours getting #homebridge set up again and catching the first episode of #TheLastOfUs.
Having not played the game since it’s original release, I enjoyed the familiarity of the first episode as well as rediscovering the characters and the world. Really excited to see if #hbo can pull this off.
Oh, and all our home automations are back. So that’s cool too!

PacMan Conversion to #RetroPie on #Armbian on #Libre #LePotato update:
- I continue to do more in the RetroPie menus than I use #Ansible for.
- #Ansible is still a very worthwhile accelerant to the build and configuration process.
- A USB keyboard switch is very helpful.
- The classic games I want to play run quite well on the LePotato (#RaspberryPi 2 equivalent.)

Today is probably heatsink day. The two heatsinks from the #librecomputer #lepotato have also arrived....
New tests SBCs arrived. Let's see how well we can support these SBCs.

With Raspberry PIs SBCs still hard to find or out of my price range, I found this Libre Le Potato Board for $35.00 bucks, doesn't have the WiFi - but does have 2gb of ram, It seems to run #Armbian fairly well, but I haven't had a chance to try out any hats or do any real tests on it. It does seem to have a overscan problem with this display, but otherwise it's good.
I didn't mind adding USB WiFi - kind of reminds of how things were with the Rpi 2B.

I want to set up a #PersonalWiki for notes in general and for planning #TTRPGs in particular, with Markdown or something similar and hyperlinks between notes. I could run one on a webserver on my single-board computer #LePotato. Which Wiki server would people recommend?
