@glynmoody As the article notes, a key issue w/patents is that they are often filed for broad concepts, rather than for a functional implementation. Remove that loophole. You wanna patent something, present a working prototype that does what it's claimed to do. (For software, there should be no patents -- we have copyright law to cover the actual code. Patenting a software concept is on par with copyrighting "An orphan discovers they have secret powers and a destiny", and then suing everyone who actually writes a novel using that trope.)

El capítulo "Revolución" nos deja clara la importancia vital de no quedarse en lo superficial cuando se habla de #revolución o #libertad. La necesidad de plantear una mirada radical, que vea más allá del titular.

Empezando por #Napster y el #P2P, Peirano nos introduce a ese tema central, en la forma de #GPL vs #OpenSource: ¿qué es el software libre? ¿de la libertad de quién estamos hablando? ¿cual es la relación entre tecnologías de la información y poder político?

Nos quedan más claras las consecuencias prácticas de estas preguntas cuando la autora repasa la historia de algunos protagonistas: #Stallman vs #Lessig, como autores de licencias importantes y representantes de la ideología correspondiente... pero también #SteveJobs, y #OReilly, y #AriannaHuffington, como aprovechados de la buena voluntad ajena y de la propaganda superficial por la colaboración y la libertad.
