choosing the right instance for you is vital. i've been on mastodon for several years now and was happy with my instance until it closed. the server message offered a replacement server which i joined without ... a second thought. oh boy what a hell hole. running pleroma with account movement and account deletion disabled. i had no other choice to contact the admin, request a manual deletion of my data and move on with a completely fresh account. #lessonslearnt
